Girls’ Day (Lányok Napja), a nationwide event series, was held with great success on April 10. Obuda University proudly participated once again, with five of our faculties offering a wide range of inspiring programs for girls considering future careers in STEM. Hundreds of high school girls had the opportunity to discover the exciting possibilities awaiting them in the fields of STEM—science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
At the Alba Regia Faculty in Székesfehérvár, participants met inspiring women who have already built successful careers in industry, sports, and business.
At the Bánki Donát Faculty of Mechanical and Safety Engineering in Budapest, girls plunged into real engineering adventures: they built spaghetti bridges, tested race cars, programmed robots, and even explored the world of artificial intelligence.
The Kandó Kálmán Faculty of Electrical Engineering offered a magical day filled with activities such as navigating robots through mazes and witnessing the stunning effects of plasma globes up close.
At the John von Neumann Faculty of Informatics, one of the most thrilling moments came when students entered a restricted-access laboratory and met humanoid robots, giving them a glimpse into the future of computer science.
Creativity met sustainability at the Rejtő Sándor Faculty of Light Industry and Environmental Engineering, where the girls explored how green energy, sustainable solutions, and art can harmoniously complement each other.
Girls’ Day clearly demonstrated that STEM is open to everyone. At Obuda University, students are not only learning about the future—they are helping shape it.
This inspiring event showed that young women can indeed become successful, innovative, and creative engineers, researchers, or IT professionals.
We look forward to welcoming curious high school girls again next year to discover the wonders of science together!
