In recent decades, higher education in the Czech Republic has undergone significant development, making considerable strides in research and innovation. Numerous Czech higher education institutions offer outstanding education and research opportunities, particularly in the fields of engineering and natural sciences. Our visit to this V4 member state aimed to explore and establish new collaboration opportunities, emphasized Prof. Dr. Levente Kovács regarding his mid-February trip.
The Rector of Obuda University participated in several key meetings in the Czech Republic, engaging with internationally renowned universities to strengthen international relations and foster industrial and scientific cooperation.

The first stop of the tour was a meeting with Prof. RNDr. Václav Snášel, Rector of the Technical University of Ostrava. This public Czech university has a long-standing tradition of high-quality engineering education and research. Its academic programs closely align with those of Obuda University, which led to discussions on several promising collaboration opportunities. We set the goal of establishing a joint online cooperation platform, as well as organizing joint doctoral programs and conferences in the fields of artificial intelligence and quantum computing, highlighted Prof. Dr. Levente Kovács.

Discussions at Brno University of Technology also proved promising, where Prof. Dr. Kovács met Doc. Ing. Ladislav Janíček, Rector of the university. The talks focused on potential joint research and industrial projects, student and faculty mobility programs, and strengthening collaborations with industrial partners. As one of the leading technical higher education institutions in the Czech Republic, Brno University of Technology conducts outstanding research and innovation activities in numerous fields.
A meeting with Jan Zajíc, Board Member of Colt CZ Group, centered on opportunities for research and development (R&D) collaboration. The discussions focused on R&D cooperation, enabling the university and the company to work together on innovative technological solutions. Colt CZ Group is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of firearms and defense technologies, and in the future, it may pursue the development of cutting-edge technological solutions in collaboration with Obuda University.

At Tomas Bata University in Zlín, Prof. Dr. Kovács met with Marek Kubalčík, Vice-Rector for Internationalization, Adriana Knapková, Vice-Rector for Internal anf External Relations, and an American Fulbright professor currently teaching and conducting research at the university, who arrived from Jacksonville State University. The participants exchanged thoughts on cooperation opportunities and best practices. Tomas Bata University in Zlín is one of the Czech Republic’s dynamically developing higher education institutions, inspired by the legacy of the world-renowned entrepreneur and industrialist Tomáš Bata. The university maintains strong ties with industry, particularly in technological and economic innovations, allowing students and researchers to gain direct practical experience.
Such international meetings are of paramount importance for our university, as they provide opportunities to expand scientific and educational relations, share the latest research results and best practices, and initiate joint innovation projects. Our goal is to actively engage in the international scientific community and collaborate with strategic partners who can contribute to the development of our students and researchers, added Prof. Dr. Levente Kovács.
